I left 92 Kiss-FM in August, 1999 to start up a brand new radio station and format! The 80’s Channel was my all-time FAVORITE station and my proudest accomplishment in radio to this day. I was Assistant Program Director and Music Director. That means I got to run the place and pick what music to play! There’s really no rhyme nor reason to most of these pics. Just some random goofy stuff. Hope u enjoy!
May as well start out with lil’ ole me.
Sandy Maxx hosted “The Deep End!”
Hanging at WXXY’s 1st Birthday Bash! (We never made it to 2.)
I got to meet 80’s legend Rick Springfield!
I’m warming up the crowd for Rick.
Another view of the Skyline Stage at Navy Pier.
Jeffro’s a powerful man.
Afternoons rocked with Tomato Face & Fred Winston!
Some dog at Greenleaf Grill.
A bonus of being the boss was my assistant Anne! (LFA)
Nikki was always there to help, too!
HOWEVER, my real love affair was with Mandy Moore.
Me, “Smokin’ Joe” Dawson & A Pet Shop Boy!
My first day at WXXY. I got an office! (my first of three…)
Some of the deco I first put up.
Chris Shebel and I had to prop up JoAnn Genette at the XMAS Party!
Though, Chris had a few tasty beverages as well.
I certainly had MY share at Cinco De Mayo!
Frank Black was our first imaging director. (pre-Joe Vlazny)
He also was the original host of “The Deep End.” (pre-Sandy Maxx)
Eric Edwards…the legendary voice of WXXY and “Eat Me, I’m A Danish!”
I introduced Guttermouth Gabbie to the world in 2000 on WXXY!
She had a filthy mouth!
Sometimes, even *I* couldn’t believe what she said!
She worked VERY hard on her movie reviews.
I always asked Gab to wear something slinky. She misunderstood.
However, some girl at Boogie Nights made up for it.
Wow! Tina Turner! (w/ Harry Legg & Haynes Johns from WNND)
My assistant LFA was always fun to party with.
Especially when Hannah would party, too!
Me & Christina Filliagi, traffic goddess!
Emceeing a contest at Maryville Academy w/ Promotions Queen (and former Luvabull) Beth Livingston.
I’d often wander down the hall to Kiss-FM for a celeb pic. (Nick Lachey, Jessica Simpson, Shark & me.)
Frank, pimp-daddy Steve Mengarelli, me, JoAnn, and street-teamer Camps at BUZZ.
My friend Deb started at Big City Radio during my WXXY days. We worked together again at Energy and later at Kiss Country in Miami.
This was XMAS, 2000 – right before I left for The ZONE! (Things were NOT good.)
Me and a listener at the Rick Springfield show.
Here’s another shot of Sandy Maxx.
Baja Beach Club was fun. Unless some drunk was trying to steal my mic!
Another walk down the hall to Kiss to meet Jessica Riddle. (I wish to God I could remember WHO she was!)
After JoAnn Genette left, Lyn Taylor was Murph’s co-host in the morning.
